Sandra Morris
Certified Physician Assistant
Sandra Morris has been working at Avail Dermatology since January, 2001. As a board-certified physician assistant, she sees general dermatology patients and treats all facets of dermatologic disease including acne, warts, psoriasis, rashes and skin cancers. Sandra also performs skin cancer surgery at the practice. In addition, she has a special interest in infectious disease and skin infections of all types, and currently does rounds at Piedmont Hospital where she attends to patients with infectious disease.
She received her medical training at the Emory University School of Medicine – Physician Assistant Program and graduated with a master’s degree of medical science in 1997. She also holds an MS degree in microbiology and a BS degree in medical technology from the University of Tennessee.
Prior to joining Avail Dermatology, Sandra worked in various clinical laboratories in the fields of microbiology and virology, and was responsible for developing the virology laboratory at Egleston Children’s Hospital (now Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta) in 1992. She also worked in internal and renal medicine. Sandra has served as an adjunct faculty member of the Emory University Physician Assistant Program and guest lecturer for the Mercer University Physician Assistant Program. Teaching subjects have included renal medicine, immunology, infectious disease, laboratory medicine and dermatology. She is published and has given presentations at both the local and state levels.
A member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Georgia Association for Physician Assistants, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and Georgia Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, Sandra has held multiple offices in the Georgia organizations. Her interests include reading, golfing, cross-stitching, cooking, and aviation.
