Dr. Samit Patrawala joins Avail Dermatology as a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and as a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. He is a native of Michigan, graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical science, and received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed an internship at University of Chicago NorthShore before completing his dermatology residency and dermatopathology fellowship at Emory University.
Along with his extensive training, Dr. Patrawala has over 10 years of research experience, during which he has authored multiple publications in scholarly journals and abstracts on topics regarding skin cancer and a wide range of skin diseases and conditions. He presented research findings at the 25th Annual Emory Dermatology Day. He has held many leadership roles; he served as chief of the Emory dermatology resident curriculum, was the Resident Liaison to the Executive Committee of the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and is a member of professional organizations such as the American Academy of Dermatology and Atlanta Association for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Patrawala is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology at Emory University School of Medicine.
On top of all his medical and scholarly accomplishments, Dr. Patrawala has also given back to near and far communities. He has contributed free services as a medical volunteer in communities within Georgia, Tennessee, and India.
Dr. Patrawala lives in Atlanta, Georgia and enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with his wife and family in his free time.
