Common Dermatologic Procedures
Our dermatologists are experts at performing the testing and procedures necessary to ensure the most effective treatment for your skin conditions. These include:
Biopsies of the skin
These simple, rapid tests allow our dermatopathologist to perform a microscopic analysis of skin specimens. Skin biopsies are quick, simple procedures performed painlessly after local anesthesia. They allow the providers to analyze rashes and other abnormalities, and to distinguish benign from cancerous skin growths.
Cryotherapy
In this procedure, a liquid nitrogen spray is used to treat benign and precancerous skin growths, including warts as well as benign and precancerous keratoses.
Excisional surgery
Our providers are experts in the surgical removal of worrisome and cancerous skin growths. Excisional surgery allows complete removal of these growths, which our providers confirm by analyzing the specimens after they are removed.
Cultures and skin scrapings
These techniques allow providers to detect and classify skin infections caused by bacteria and fungus.
Patch testing
Skin patch testing is a simple procedure that can identify which of many common chemicals may be responsible for allergic skin rashes.
Photodynamic therapy
One of the newest techniques for treating precancerous skin growths, this therapy involves “photopeels” in which large areas of precancerous and heavily sun-damaged skin can be removed – revealing new, healthy skin and decreasing the risk of future skin cancers.

The miraDry procedure uses the only non-invasive technology that is FDA cleared and clinically proven to dramatically reduce sweat and provide lasting results. Now there is a lasting solution to sweat control that doesn’t use harsh chemicals, toxins, or surgery.

VI Peel with Precision Plus
Avail Dermatology’s Peachtree City Office is now offering a VI Peel with Precision Plus. This peel can help restore your desired skin tone by: reducing the appearance of age spots, brightening even the most stubborn areas of discoloration, and by smoothing away rough skin texture.
